It is also helpful for a range of female complaints, as well as muscle health and balancing the digestive system.
When used on the skin, clary sage is useful for balancing oil secretions and for calming puffy skin. It has been said to be useful for encouraging appropriate hair growth.

Soak the beans in plenty of cold water for at least 8 hours or overnight. Rinse well and cover with water, boil rapidly for 1 hour, discard this water, then add fresh water and simmer on a low heat until tender (around 1- 2 hours). Drain and season to taste, or add to your favourite recipe.
